Buzz! Brain Bender for PSP |
|
A new leader in the brain game genre is about to emerge - Buzz! Brain Bender for the PSP is set to give Brain Training on the DS a run for its money.
While the Brain Training titles on the Nintendo handheld remain very good, critics have argued it can be laborious as you work on the DS exercises.
The PSP’s new rival game comes across as being fundamentally more fun and rewarding. The game aims to improve your brain in four key areas: memory, observation, calculation and analysis. There are 16 mini games to test your ability in each of these four categories.

Devil Kings: Battle Heroes is coming to PSP |
|
A new Devil Kings game is heading to PSP. That's according to the latest issue of Japan games magazine Weekly Famitsu.
The magazine has several details on the hack 'n' slash game, entitled Sengoku Basara: Battle Heroes in Japan. Including the news it will differ significantly from the PS2 and Wii versions that have gone before it. While they featured gameplay similar to Koei's Dynasty Warriors games, with hundreds of enemies onscreen at once, Battle Heroes on PSP is a two-on-two combat game.
As well as including single-player, the game features wireless ad-hoc play for up to four fighters in both cooperative and competitive modes.

Rumor: Motorstorm Headed to PSP |
|
A top European retailer has fuelled rumours today that Sony is planning to release a version of Motorstorm on the PSP. According to a dutch blog, the retailer briefly added a listing for a motorstorm PSP title in their online database, before quietly removing it.
Of course, it is possible that the company simply made a mistake and substituted a non-existant PSP version for the upcoming PS3. On the other hand, perhaps they know something that we don't, and Sony really is planning a diminutive port of the popular offroad racer.
Such a move would make sense, considering Sony's renewed support for their handheld platform with games like Resistance: Retribution making the transition from console to portable platform.

Is the Sony PSP getting ready to ditch UMD to go full download? |
|
Recently Sony has been focused on getting UMD games up on the Playstation Store such as Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure and Jeanne d’Arc. It seems Sony is slowly converting its UMD collection to downloadable form in preparation for the Playstation Store revamp.
Could this be an indicator as to the direction Sony plans on taking the handheld market to? UMD was Sony’s attempt at brining a new portable format, not only for games but for movies as well. However despite the technological achievements made by UMD the format hasn’t flown off the shelves for movies.
We suspect most people don’t actually go out and buy UMD movies for their PSPs but download them or rip them from their DVDs in order to transfer them to the PSP. Moving games and movies online, especially for portable gaming devices such as the PSP is actually a great idea when you think about its actual purpose.

Direct PSP Store looming |
|
The 'direct access' PSP Store will be offered up to Japanese users this very autumn, we're told; reports indicating that the new iteration of the PlayStation Store will be with us this year.
We've no word on when said PSP Store might make it to Europe or America, but you can bet your bottom dollar we'll get there in the end. The PSP’s new rival game comes across as being fundamentally more fun and rewarding. The game aims to improve your brain in four key areas: memory, observation, calculation and analysis. There are 16 mini games to test your ability in each of these four categories.
Japanese PSP owners will also be given access to PSN online play, via a PS3, with the epic hit Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G among the very first games to work with this new online connectivity.
